Janatha Education Society (JES) was registered in the year 1972 by 12 illustrious promoters drawn from various walks of life, which includes educationists and philanthropists. JES was established with the motto of providing quality education for students belonging to the rural and weaker sections of the society at an affordable cost. JES is a voluntary organization with all the members participating with zeal in rendering free service to the general public. A Student Aid Fund of Rs.2.2 Crore has been instituted by JES. The interest earned from the corpus fund is being distributed as Scholarship to meritorious & economically weak Students.
JES has four campuses running 15 institutions in the city of Bengaluru with a total strength of over 7000 students.
The city campus spread over an acre of land is located on Dr. Rajkumar Road, Rajajinagar 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, began functioning in 1972. A campus spanning over 23 acres at Gudimavu, Off Mysore Road near Kumbalgodu, has housed one of the city’s prestigious Engineering College – Vivekananda Institute of Technology started in the year 1997. The campus also accommodates Vivekananda PU College and Vivekananda Public School. Another campus at Mahalakshmi Layout was started in 2004 which caters to the exclusive need of girls pursuing PU and Degree courses. The State of Art campus on an area of 12,000 sq.ft. of land nestles Vivekananda College of Law.
